I've been a Wikipedia editor for 10 years and remain so. Some parts of Wikipedia are fine, eg science and technology related articles. I do feel that many articles are increasingly exhibiting a feminist slant though. I have first hand experience of the resolution process failing to achieve a balanced result.

That article is probably a little harsh in places. The Register has been anti-Wikipedia for years and again, while some of their complaints are legitimate sometimes they go overboard.

I use wikipedia all the time, even for academia. I search for the info, click on the page, scroll down to the references, and use that.
