IS IT POSSIBLE TO ASK AT THE CHECK-IN DESK TO SIT NEXT TO A WOMAN? I AM A FEMALE TRAVELLER AND MALE PASSENGERS TEND TO INVADE MY PERSONAL SPACE ON AIRLINES. MEN SIT WITH ARMS AND LEGS SPREAD WIDE AND DON’T CARE IF THEY ARE RESTING ON ME, WHICH I FIND CREEPY. (APOLOGIES TO THE POLITE MEN OUT THERE.)

Male Traveler here, I have had this problem with people of both sexes. Moral of the story, PEOPLE ARE ASSHOLES.

If it was a woman asking to be not be seated next to men. The person at the check in desk would probqbly try to accomadate the woman. But if a man asked to only be seated next to women. He would be looked at like he was some kind of pervert. They would automatically assume that there is malicous intent behind the request. That heing said her main beef with sitting next to men is that a man is likely to sit with his legs apart and it creeps her out if her leg touches the leg of the person sitting next to her. I am also annoyed if the person sitting next to me casually invades my personal space. But maybe she should try talking to the person sitting next to her.

Yeah, I always cede the armrest just to avoid a conflict. Good thing I'm not so big.

I dont care what gender is next to me. What I do care is if he or she is obese.
