Hi I live in Canada, Bc. I know child support is different everywhere so I thought I would add that off the top. Me and my partner are separating and I am moving out of our rental at the end of the month because it is owned by her father in law so it only makes sense I move. At this point there is nothing that will bring this back together I am okay with that and am moving on. We have a 2 year old son who I love very much and plan on seeing as often as possible and am renting a suite with 2 bedrooms with the plans he will stay over night on weekends and holidays and basically any other time I can facilitate. She is fine with this, we are at an agreement that we both want to be fully involved in his life for his benefit. So now the child support question comes up : If the child spends x amount of time with the parent with less custody does it change the amount paid every month or is it just as the calculator said?. I know lots of people go though legal battles over this and I just want an idea what is fair game in this situation, any advice or insight would be appreciated!
