Doesn't anyone remember that this is the Anita Sarkeesian of whom we have video footage (courtesy of Thunderf00t on youtube) admitting she is not a gamer and she hates video games because she "doesn't like violence and gore"... who arguably doesn't play the games in question (she uses other people's footage and her own videos which show her holding and using the controller sometimes have the controller turned off)... and who told DICE that the controls for Mirror's Edge had to be simplified because they were "too complex for women"?

She isn't a gaming hobbyist. She just complained and damselled her way to a "consulting" job where she basically claimed women needed simple control schemes (!) as a way of covering up her own non-gamer status.

Yes, there is space for gender analysis of video games. That said, to be fair, most video game gender politics is no different the standard action film. Why the complaints about video games rather than mainstream Hollywood action flicks?

Does anyone else think that Anita Sarkeesian's "activism" has actually done more to turn people away from the message of inclusivity in video games than convince them that it needs to be fought for?

The Ambassador Award, honoring someone who is helping video games "advance to a better place" through advocacy or action, is going to media critic Anita Sarkeesian, creator of Feminist Frequency, the video series that explores representations of women in game and pop culture narratives.

Oh! I didn't realized we had an agreement on what a "better place" was for gaming! Silly me. I must have missed that meeting. Funny how gaming didn't have anywhere near this much of a problem before outside ideology started to say, "Hey, I like gaming too... But you need to change everything!"
