Why? Because the organizations (private, governmental, religious) that care for the homeless (food, shelter, re-insertion into society) jump to help women, just because they are women. Women who are in a precarious situation, will receive much more aid (& much faster) than men who are in the exact same situation. (EDIT: I just want to add that this was the reason given by the guests on the TV show where I saw that statistic. It's not me guessing why, or my opinion in any way. What's it like in your country?

This is my first time posting here, but I came across this bit of information & it disgusted me. You could be sick, have mental problems, & risk freezing, & yet still be left out in the cold just because you're a man.
