Yes, this show is certainly unfair in the way it portrays women as powerful martial artists, but relegates men to the lowly role of powerful martial artist.

That image is old and the fans are different subsets of crazy. You shouldn't pay it too much mind.

Thank you! This has bugged me for the longest time.. My friends just said to forget it like it was no big deal but it got to me really deep inside. One of the reasons I lost respect for the fandom :/

I do remember that no character is shown as being perfect in Korra, and those exaggerated faces are common to every character, but I will agree that they toned up the girl power message in Korra.

The original series is great, strong, well-developed characters on all sides, and while it does play into the physical male injury comedy trope sometimes, it didn't cast either sex into an overly negative light.
