In some cases, I've seen instances where males were generally aloud to dance more "provocatively" because it was assumed to be a comedic device, while females were not able to use those same moves due to the supposed sexual nature of the dances.

Example: A newer, urban church had a "dance off". The contestants were mostly age 18-24 and included both males and females. Generally speaking, the males were performing more provocative dances (keep in mind, this was a church event so it never got too crazy) while the females refrained from doing so because of the nature of the dance moves.

What are your thoughts on this? I just found it a little odd.
