My two cents on why we are getting violent, angry and downright illogical responses to the MRM. People don't want to be the winner, the winner is seen as the bad guy whilst the underdog is the good guy.

I was thinking about an old clip from the TV show coupling where one of the characters realizes her party was in power making her the winner (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RbwvQFIoGQ).

Many years ago feminists actually had a cause, many of them fought heroically for equal rights and responsibilities. Now thanks to government programs, laws, charities, work place policies and overall beliefs on gender - they have better rights and access to help. Or areas where men have never had equal rights and access have not been fixed.

There are certainly areas where feminists can still fight for things they may not be getting (though dwindling in the Western world) but they see the rise of the MRM as a mirror to show that they are now the bad guys. So they react like many people do when they realize they are in the wrong, with anger and contempt.
