The apartment presents itself as a mix of man-child fantasy and discerning urban sophistication — Peter Pan meets the man cave. Action hero figurines, many still in their boxes, are displayed over the doorways, while film snob DVDs (by directors like Akira Kurosawa or Preston Sturges) line the shelves.

Always the obligatory bigotry, hate and sour-grapes. Come on guys, surely there are some ingrates you should be slaving away in a deadend job for! Get with the program!

I think I would really like this living arrangement. I need roommates that share the house but don't intrude too much on my personal life but are still friendly.

Holy cow, I actually have the Burning Wheel core books. Never actually played it, haven't played any RPGs since 1998 or so, but I just heard about it and thought it was worth looking at.

Extremely interesting article, thanks for posting this, megazen. Pity the NYT don't even have words to describe the arrangement that don't ooze of scorn ("man-child", "man-cave").
