Interesting article and the author brings up a good point about biological fathers being disregarded in so many facets. I only know of two cases where a father has received majority custody.

In one case the mother was a total nut, literally was committed to a state institution for psychosis. Of course when she was released she was given visitation rights and more or less joint custody despite the living conditions she had set up for her son. (another example of the courts not caring about men despite their age)

The other case was a bit more involved and when it came right down to it the mother just didn't want the child (again a son) so the father was awarded custody. Though in the settlement apparently she didn't owe any child support to the father, but the father still had to pay her bills via alimony.

I agree with the writer here, for heterosexual couples little if anything will change. Courts will still side with women a majority of the time. It will be interesting to see how it is handled with same sex couples.
