I f'n hate fathers day. I'm not a biological father and two years ago my ex-wife took away her daughters/my step kids. I miss them terribly.

This same thing happened to the 3rd husband of my ex-wife about five years ago. He was there for the birth of her second daughter (not his own, and first daughter was mine) and took her in and cared for my daughter and raised "his" daughter as his own. He's no substitute father to my daughter, but damn he wasn't a bad guy.

Then five years later he comes back from a company trip and finds his house stripped and food mashed into his carpets. All because he had caught her "chatting" online and camwhoring with dozens of guys. He went to visit "his" daughter and she begged to go home with him and he cried and cried. He was never allowed to see her again.

Women who do this are horrible evil people.

(I only say "his" daughter to differentiate from mine -- in all respects but biology she is his daughter)

I don't know your whole story but generally, both parties share some of the blame in a failing relationship. That said, she had no right to take the children away and I hope one day you will be reunited with your daughters again.

It makes me sad thinking that this woman effectively robbed her children of two fathers, assuming her previous husband was a decent guy.

Find something positive. My dad died when I was 15 (I'm 19 now), but I'm staying optimistic.

Example: My sister and I went on an adventure today to find a fathers' day balloon to put at his grave. We saw this awesome birthday balloon that had the grim reaper holding a plate with birthday cake on it that said "Relax! I'm just here for the cake!" Sadly, we didnt buy it, but my dad would have loved it. (Now fathers day balloons were found in the end)

Just an example on how to stay optimistic! It sucks that you can't be with your step kids, but maybe you can talk to them at least?
