This kind of got me thinking about sitcoms like "everybody likes raymond" and "the world of Jim" where every single male character is a moron while the women are mothers who's the sense and the logic, perhaps the only person who keeps the world from blowing up after their husbands stupidity.

While I know it's a sitcom and shouldn't be taken seriously, I get the feeling that it's a worn in way of seeing men.

As stupid,fumbling,choatic,impulsive and worthless parents.

The problem is that THIS view of men doesn't stay on the TV screen but follows people back into reality.

It's not harder for a man to feed a child. It's not harder for men to change a diaper. It's not harder for men to play with their child.

Yet people get supprised when you do.

Regarding the commercial; In a 2 parent family, as long as one parent isn't abusive, there's always 2 parents to thank. Maybe for diffrent things, but still worth a simple thank you.

Great article. Good to see people taking a stand against these kind of ads. When people, especially children, are constantly bombarded with these doofus dad images then it is bound to affect their perception.
