You can't really say stuff like that, unquantified, and expect to be taken seriously.

"Human rights" and "hate" have taken on such broad meanings that it's really impossible to take them seriously anymore.

I hear a lot of SRS bashing, but from what I've seen of SRS, there's a lot of good insight into the hive-mind hatred that is sometimes prevalent on Reddit.

I've had run-ins with people from SRS before -- and have been banned from posting there even though I've never posted/voted/commented on any of their submissions.

Given my experience, I wouldn't exactly attach them to "insight".

Then again, you're dropping the "hate" word unquantified again, so I'm having a hard time taking you seriously...

They have a hivemind-decided set of things that are bad, and everything else is fine. Similarly, they have a list of things that it's funny to mock, and other things that, if you joke about, you are a disgusting bigot. Their lists jar with reality, sometimes contradict their own standards, and their reactions are terribly hyperbolic. They claim to be all about defending oppressed minorities, but I've seen upvoted comments saying pretty terrible things about furries, people who watch My Little Pony, anybody with a fetish they don't approve of, making jokes about MGM etc. While the second doesn't exactly have serious issues, the others do, so it's hypocritical of them to be hateful (I've totally had better examples in the past, can't think of any right now).

For some issues, they think the whole white/male/cis/etc privilege thing is divine truth - they loathe a person who makes a mild joke about a black person but applaud somebody who is hateful about white people. That one isn't such a big deal (because black privilege isn't exactly a thing, the upsides are few and trivial), but the part that's really bad is they feel the same way about gender; joke about hitting a woman, you're a misogynist who beats his wife, joke about killing men, you're just being funny and satirical and turning the tables on the oppressors. Misandry isn't real, any admission that men don't have perfect lives is grudging and minimizing as fuck, while for women, the same has mandatory hyperbole.

I also dislike the whole culture with the shitty jokes and mocking attitudes.

They also destroyed /r/lgbt.

And finally, they're mostly cis dudes, mostly white, but are still very arrogant about how enlightened they are. One example I found particularly hilarious was when an SRS user, rmuser, who is a mod of lgbt was arguing with a bunch of people about how men are unable to understand women's issues and such. Somebody asked him how he understood, and he said something like "Because I ask questions and I listen"; basically thinking he was the only man there who was special enough to "get it". EDIT: Purely by coincidence, I seem to have discovered that rmuser may be a trans woman, which makes me confused as hell about what that discussion was about. Maybe it was a different person? EDIT2: Though a trans woman obviously wouldn't have the same experience as a cis woman, especially if she hasn't been transitioned for long.

These are all generalizations and there are plenty of exceptions, and even some decent people. I don't necessarily hate everybody who posts in SRS (some users in SRSD I actually like) but the sub itself I dislike and that extends to the majority of people there.

Mostly I hate it because so many users are so insanely arrogant and deluded about how enlightened and empathetic they are. A few times somebody has made a thread in SRSDiscussion basically saying "hey this insult you guys constantly use, isn't this is bad as the stuff you're linking in SRS and calling racist/sexist" and everybody is like oh shit I never bothered to think about that I think they're right.

Ooh ooh, and one more, and actually this is probably the worst, going along with the previous paragraph; they're convinced that they have this amazing understanding of the motivation of absolutely everybody. Reading threads in SRSDiscussion that are basically "why do people think x" or "why do people do y" generally makes me want to smash my head against a wall because they're all stating it as fact, it's often totally outrageous, and even when not half the time I think it's stupid.
