If Pink's "Please Don't Leave Me" were sung by a man, it would never be allowed on the radio. Why is it okay to play a song about domestic abuse when the abuser is female?

As a recent example, Eminem- "Love the Way You Lie."

Ridiculously popular and has the same theme as the Pink song, but sung by a man.

Well, there are songs about being abusive to women, as others have cited, though they might get condemned a bit more often. I will say, that I never listened to the lyrics of that song until a few months ago, really until I was with a group of friends at a dorm shared by some of the women in the group; someone was going through youtube videos and chose that one. Having grown up in an abusive mother with borderline personality disorder (basically the "I'm going to hurt you now but don't abandon me because I love you but I hate you" of mental conditions), it was a pretty uncomfortable and memory-raising video to watch.

You want to see a real double standard? Watch "Tanisha Gets Married" episodes 2 and 3 on Oxygen. Her fiancee is just straight up abused physically and verbally. He just takes it. I will grant that he's not the smartest guy in the world, but he doesn't deserve any of it. If the gender roles were reversed, the show would probably never make it to air.
