And this is another are-women-safe article. Because frankly, everything the article talks about is just as applicable, if not more, to boys. When 8 year old girls overwhelmingly reply actress and singer to the question "what do you want to be when you grow up", boys reply professional athlete and band member. It's the same problem with the same symptoms, but this author clearly wants to paint it as some sort of Patriarchy-sponsored ploy to prevent girls from being successful. It's not.

What we see is a very obvious consequence of the growing influence of the media on kids, which is itself a perhaps less obvious consequence of parents being less involved in their kids education. And this sub already know the underlying reasons: families are broken, parents spend more time at work and less with their kids, fathers are being denied custody.
