Personally I don't think parents should be forced to pay for their child's education. If you can, that's great but it shouldn't be mandatory.

If you are 18, you aren't a child. You've reached the age of majority. Hence, by definition, child support should no longer be mandatory. Even continuing it for another year seems unconstitutional. College isn't a necessity. In addition, there's student loans. Are fathers on the hook here to pay for those, or are they required to pay in lieu of those loans?

At 18 does the money goes directly to the child (in their personal bank account) so he/she can pay for collage or does it continue to go to the mom?

It's beyond ridiculous that it was at 21 in the first place, still unacceptable for it to be 19 y/o. At 18, every American citizen is a legal adult. Child support is for children, not for adults. Period.
