You could mention where you grew up, as in the suburb, city or state. Most people don’t ask specifically about your background so this is a way of diverting the conversation to your hometown.

Asking them to guess evokes mystery and makes them actively engage with you. When they respond, you can say “Everybody thinks I’m from A and B, but I’m actually from X and Y” which assists in preselection. You’ve hinted that multiple people have spoken to you and shown interest.

Finally, you can lie for shits and giggles or just joke about it, depending on their sense of humor. Play on some fun stereotypes and make the jokes self-deprecating. Example: I’m half-Asian and half-white, so my Mom wanted straight A’s on my report while my dad was happy with C’s. While I just came up with this example off the top of my head, spend some time thinking how you can make light of your uniqueness.

Being "mysterious" is girl talk for "having tingles." It doesn't have that much to do with actually withholding information.

You have two options when asked where you're from. You can go with cocky-funny, which would be something like what /u/Adadya suggested, or you can go with deadpan "name-of-town" and look at her like she's a goober just depending on the dynamic.
