I'm confused about how this works. I started this program a few weeks ago and a guy at the gym explained it that on my compound lifts I'll do 8x5 one week, then 8x3 the next, then 8x1 the next. I should increase weight each week since I'm doing less reps. It doesn't make sense to me to do 8 one rep maxes so I wanted to make sure this was right.
