I wonder how they would react if a law was implemented that sated "50% of all people fired must be female", you know, for equality.

Companies perform best when they're able to hire the right person for the job, regardless of gender. Feminists like to tote the fact that boards with women on them perform just as well or better than ones with men on them. This study just shows what anyone should have been able to guess: women who are on boards because of their own merits perform as well as the men. Those who are there because of affirmative action do not.

Legislation for equal outcomes requires non-equal treatment. If we're going for equal outcomes of the sexes, that requires treatment based on sex, which is sexist. It's actually perpetuating sexism.
