IMHO, the reason the majority of DV cases are the result of initiation of violence by the woman is that women are still living under the premise of "He won't hit me back because I'm a girl."

In an unrelated note, are there any attorneys here who could give me some insight into a man's ability to bring witnesses, character or otherwise, to attest to the fact that he could not possibly be abusive toward his children?

To clarify: Let's say my wife falsely accuses me of child abuse, as a means of retribution for my claims of DV against her. History would dictate that it would end up as a case of he said/she said, with juries statistically favoring the mother. Would it behoove me to call character witnesses (i.e. friends, family, co-workers) to attest things like "He's a good person who loves his children, he would never do such a thing?"

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a purely hypothetical situation.
