Hello, I'm a long time lurker but avoided to make a reddit account to post until today.
I'm 30 years old and as you may say I have a 10 years long dry spell. I was isolated from social life, friends and almost family. An amoeba most likely has more social skills and better self-esteem than me.
With that said, I read illimitable man's monk mode blog. I read it like a thirsty man in the desert found water. On one hand, I think that focusing on myself vs. focusing on shit activities like playing video games all day and masturbate to porn is destructive. On the other, well... I can't possibly imagine myself approaching and trying to meet other men for buddies and women to have sex with, as I am right now. I'm sure you can understand that I feel it will make things worse, because my self esteem is already shit, getting rejected and actively ignored by men and women I'm trying to know is gonna hit me hard.
What I'm trying to ask is: How do I start from being completely isolated and shit to slowly crawl back up? I read about abundance mentality but all that I think is "it's easy for them to say it because they don't live in real scarcity like I am". I also think that monk mode, as in "stay isolated to improve yourself" might be counter intuitive in my case.
Thank you for your time.
