My wife was talking with her new coworker about his turbulent relationship with his (ex-)girlfriend. She lied to the cops that he was beating her (though he has never hit her) and he went to jail for two weeks until she told the cops she was lying and they let him go with nothing more than an, "I'm sorry, man." She didn't get punished. Later she got pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. He didn't want her to, but he (obviously) had no rights to do anything about it and so she did it anyway. They're broken up now, but I wish the laws were better/more fair so guys didn't have to go through it.
