Sometimes, when dealing with all this mensrights vs feminism stuff, it can be easy to lose sight of balance and what's really justice in the end. Who did what to who? Who has the power and who had it, really? Who has the right to get payback? What does it mean when one group has more power than the other? What if it switches? All that kind of stuff can get very circular and mind-bending.

The moral compass I use is the situation of the Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda/Burundi. Both sides oppress each other, both sides have been oppressed by each other. Periodically horrible violence will flash out in a sort of unending blood feud between the two. Both believe themselves right. Both believe themselves defending from the other side. Both commit terrible atrocities, because terrible atrocities were done to them.

If we are ever to make progress or peace in the gender war - it will not and cannot be by either side actually claiming victory, or that side will just be the Hutus killing Tutsis, or the Tutsis killing Hutus.

We have to be above that. We have to seek out those on the opposite side who are too. We have to crush those on our side and theirs who would only repeat the same mistakes both sides have made.

We cannot surrender and we cannot win.
