I posted on that thread, but it was well over 200 posts with excellent advice by then, so it's probably well lost. I'll say it again over here.

My advice would be the same to any man, woman, or 12+ year old child.

Nobody deserves to be abused. Absolutely nobody. If you are being hit, hurt, yelled at, and tormented, you need to spend every day making your plan to leave. He's damn lucky she didn't rat him out to the cops the FIRST time he hit her and at this point, if she turns on him after his history of raising his hand to her, he's going to go down for ten to twenty years.

The cops aren't going to care that SHE has been abusing him for years, or that she landed 99% of the punches, or that he's standing there broken and bleeding, all she has to say is "he hit me" and she'll get a domestic violence advocate and he is going DOWN. The court system does NOT have a mandate to stop TRUE domestic violence, it has a mandate to punish men who hit women, and he just came on Reddit and admitted that he has been hitting his wife. The court doesn't CARE why.

He needs to move to a new state, go completely NO CONTACT with his wife, and hire a lawyer to take care of the divorce and communication on his behalf. That's probably the only way he'll get out of this without doing time.

He should go to one of the many male-only abuse shelters that feminists have helped create & fund in the struggle to fight for men's equality and to help victims of domestic violence.

Oh wait.
