The interview is to be conducted in Spanish — I'm a Spanish major. These are the questions I've drawn up so far. For contexualization's sake, the prof told us that we ought to interview someone "with age" in order to hear a more experienced viewpoint of feminism and the treatment of women in the recent past. As a humanist, I don't want to focus on just the bad aspects of things, so here is what I've thought up so far (in both English and Spanish); obviously I have to include the basic questions first:

  • ¿De dónde eres?

  • Where are you from?

  • ¿Dónde te criaste?

  • Where were you raised?

  • ¿Quién(es) te crió/criaron?

  • Who raised you?

  • ¿Quién tenía una gran influencia en tu vida? ¿Por qué? ¿Puedes contar algo sobre esa persona?

  • Who played a large role in your life? Why? Can you tell a story about this person?

  • Cuando eras niña, ¿enfrentaste alguna(s) dificultad(es) por tu sexo? ¿Cuáles fueron?

  • When you were little, did you encounter any challenges because of your sex? What were they?

  • ¿Habían estereotipos que confrontaste por tu sexo? ¿Quién(es) te impuso/impusieron ellos?

  • Did you encounter any stereotypes because of your sex? Who imposed them on you?

  • ¿Puedes describir alguna(s) ocasión(es) en que alguien te trató mejor que un muchacho/hombre por tu sexo frente a mal tratamiento por él?

  • Can you describe any instances in which someone treated you better than a man because of your sex as opposed to mistreatment for it?

  • ¿Crees que hay áreas en la vida femenina que requieren mejora? ¿Cuáles han sido las desventajas de ser mujer en tu vida adulta? ¿Crees que hay áreas en que tienes ventajas por ser mujer?

  • Do you think that there are areas in women's lives which need improvement? What are the disadvantages of being an adult woman? What areas are there which have their advantages as such?

  • When you think of the term "female gender", what images does it conjure for you?
