It's not as blatant here in the US, but those attitudes exist here. It's almost impossible to win a custody battle against a mother who isn't openly abusing her kids.

As a non-custodial parent, a father is not taken seriously by anyone. There isn't one of my children's teachers in the last 4 yrs who has believed me about my ex keeping info away from me. People get "that look" when you ask them to include you in email or phone communications about your children because the Ex won't update you.

No wonder that Japanese society is on the verge of a demographic collapse. Gen-X men staying locked in a room in their parents' home chewing their underpants...women vowing at college age never to get married and have a family. Once Western and Japanese societies have finally collapsed under the weight of feminism there will be some change.
