I was a bit dismayed by the naivety visible in her question, “Where were the men’s organizations demanding attention to these issues [of male reproductive health] and regulatory action by the state…?”

If someone is writing an entire book about male reproductive health, they're probably pretty well aware of the state of advocacy for such issues. I don't see this as naiveté, but rather a call to action. Such a book (written by a self-avowed feminist, no less) will, I think, get a wider audience to pay attention to important issues affecting men of which they are likely not presently aware.
