I thought this report could be interesting to some of the peoples here. It's written by Michael Kimmel, a pro-feminist sociologist working within the field of men's studies.

The paper discusses previous research on domestic violence and proposes a way of focusing on domestic abuse of males without discrediting female victims. He is basically saying that we don't need to make wife beating and husband beating synonymous to acknowledge and give support to men who suffer domestic abuse.

Men who are punched, slapped, kicked, bitten, or otherwise assaulted by their wives or partners are no less deserving of compassion, understanding, and intervention than are women who are so assaulted. And male victims deserve access to services and funding, just as female victims do. Nor do they need to be half of all victims in order to deserve either sympathy or services.
