My mother raised me to believe that girls were to be treated the same as boys. So I asked "how come I can't hit a girl?" She slapped me.

All these comments about "Use the same force they used on you" are complete bullshit. It's a clever line to drop as a response for what to do if a girl hits you, but it's not reality at all.

If a smaller guy punches me in the cheek but it doesn't really phase me, I'm not going to respond by also giving him a weak jab as well. I'm going to try to deck him cold. Why? Because this isn't some game of "Let's see how equally we can hit each other", it's the reality of "Not only will I respond to your attack, I will respond in a greater manner in order to teach you not to try that shit again. Please learn your lesson."

The main problem here is that any physical altercation between a man and a woman is inherently unfair, unless you're a shrimp and she's an amazon. Men are far stronger than women, fights with women are like fights with children. I'm not a huge guy, only 5-9, but I work out and I've been to enough bars, clubs and shows to have had a few run ins with aggressive women - I have zero problem restraining them, they usually don't even come close to me in strength, I wouldn't hit them because I wouldn't hit a 12 year old doing the same bullshit.

But thats just me.
