I don't understand why you suggest that the title is very depressing. Many societies exist because of evil and cruelty in the world. Are you suggesting they should all have a fun-loving and bouncy public image?

Absolutely not. But that doesn't make their chosen subject matter any less dark. Really it should b dark, and if people want to belong to something that on the daily basis, highlights some of society's most fucked up problems, that's their business. Someone has to do it, I guess people would say the same thing about my (sometimes morbid) interest in medical work.

But on my recent journey to becoming a happier person without the assistance of anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication, I've been questioning the media i intake a lot more frequently. And I suppose if anything, that was more of a passing observation about how miserable dwelling on false rape accusations day in and day out must be. It's something that needs more light shed on it, but I don't envy the people who actively take it upon themselves to do that like the owner of that site.

I've been falsely accused of things I didn't do- in court. It was an accusation of a hate crime and not a sex crime, so it's not quite as bad, but still carries a lot of weight. Even though no legal repercussions ever came of it, it made my life a living hell for a very long time. I can relate to a degree. I would rather be a racist in the eyes of my community than a rapist any day, but that didn't make it any less difficult.

But I've moved on with my life and I try not to think about that anymore. Sure, it's easier for me to do than a lot of people. I was never convicted of anything. I certainly don't have to put myself on some kind of public registry to let everyone know what a horrible, horrible person I am.
