Here's a quick analogy. Suppose a man is like a bridge. The boy barely gets the supports erected and already Mother is using the bridge to fulfill her unmet emotional needs, which is very disruptive to finishing the bridge. The boy gets a few trusses up and, as soon as there's a path across, suddenly foot-traffic becomes overwhelming; girlfriends, employers, government, parents, neighbors, nobody can wait to use the bridge. But precious few people are concerned about helping the boy build a big strong bridge.

This is the best summing up of what's wrong with how men are treated in America I've ever seen.
