How many of these do you think are about vilifying women and not about men's rights? I know there are certain trolls that like to say that the men's rights subreddit is all about hating women, but open your eyes and judge for yourself.

I've noticed here and there that men -- and women who sometimes drop into men's forums -- say that nothing after all is being done. The forums are just guys complaining and trashing women.

A forum is a clearing place for information and a place where men can express things they can't in regular society. That is their function. Men who thought they were alone can discover they aren't so isolated after all and even that the problems in dealing with women and law are now universal and much the same thanks to feminism and certain government tendencies. That in itself is a revelation and a relief to many. Men are brought up, at least in many Western countries, to believe women are kind of semi-divine creatures: the answer to all troubles, wise, incomprehensible, best treated as fragile and all-powerful, utterly moral and good. Complaining about them and presenting news items about their real behavior helps many overcome this false attitude and come to see women as imperfect humans. It helps them not be taken in by the myth of the Divine Female when making choices and planning their lives.

A forum can't be more than that. It isn't a place to plan specific actions to be carried out at particular times and places because it's accessible to everyone with a computer. Even if your plan is totally legal it will be countered by groups opposing it. You'd have to use an artificial language known only to members of a group and even then encrypt it. Planning is something to be done in person and to an extend by snail mail.

The real problem right now is lack of funding. There are few multi-billionaires funding men, if any. That is the crux, because if you have that backing you will win legal cases and turn things around. Otherwise you have to use sheer numbers and make sure the people involved don't think themselves isolated individuals. You can't deal online with people or organizations that might offer funding for the reason given above.

So this is not an exercise in futility, though it is alright if feminists and others see it as such. Action is done in the real world, not the electronic world.
