You're welcome to ignore them.

I don't think the readers of the MRA subreddit need any reminders that society plays women as victims.

No, but they have one more story to consider when arguing somewhere else.

I get enough stories like these from tv news; i don't need them on reddit as well.

Reddit is a site and [mensrights] is a subreddit where people look for news that they might not have seen, or may want to discuss or examine more closely. You're free to argue that she didn't really do it, was under duress, that the baby somehow deserved it, or whatever else. People are free to argue against your opinion. I, personally, will not refrain, however, from posting something because the argument "has been made before," or because the submission or commentary is not desirable, for whatever reason, according to you.

As I said, if you dislike the content, sub your own and see how many people agree with your POV.

edit to add: I probably could submit to other sites, in addition to this one, to broaden my influence. I may do so.

Dude. The point is that it has nothhing to do with "mens rights". I know what you are doing. Submitting to a subreddit because everyone votes it up. This happens in guns, ronpaul, every subbit. It's a giant karma wankfest.

What needs to happen is people need to stop upvoting a story because it is simply in a subscribed to reddit. Start voting pn6 down, and he may stop posting unrelated links.

EDIT: pn6, what people are trying to say is subbit it to reddit, news, somewhere else. This story does not belong here in this particular subreddit any more than a story about Ron Paul's latest donation request belongs in politics instead of RonPaul.

Wow. You still watch TV News?

Hope you don't believe it, though.

I doubt you see this on TV News. At least not as much as that chick lost-kidnapped-killed in Aruba (we almost invade the country), or the runaway bride, or anything that happens to any white woman in this country.

You have to admit that repercussion on the media is a big part for a bill to pass. If there is public outrage for DV, they create a special bill for it, if there is public outrage to microwaving babies, maybe somebody, someplace, tries to pass a bill that penalizes that killing a baby is a horrible crime no matter who does it (although I think that if it's a parent is much worse).

I've read the news in a few places, and nobody in the forums, comments, etc, asked for the chair for this woman.

What if it was a man? a Mexican man? a dark skinned Mexican man?. I guess it will be life, life without parole and the chair respectively.

So what bothers me (and I guess pn6 too) is the double standard for crimes and the lala land that women are one step below angels and men are one step above animals (I'm sure some women would argue that too).

Nearly everyone in the country is OK with 30 year old men who sleep with 16 year old girls going to prison, and 30 year old women who sleep with 16 year old boys getting a slap on the wrist. Most would be high fiving the boy even.

You are comparing sex, to murder.

You're right. It would have been better to mention Mary Winkler, who got less than a year for murder, or Tracy Rhodes, who got probation, for murder.

I should have also mentioned Harriet Harman, who devised a plan whereby women can have murder charges reduced simply by alleging "abuse". No substantiation of those allegations are necessary.

Perhaps I should also have mentioned Canada's infanticide law, whereby women can be charged for the lesser crime of infanticide simply because they have a vagina-and-related-hormones. but then I couldn't mention that hormonal changes create a higher risk of domestic violence by females could I? In order to do so, I'd first have to convince you that females can commit domestic violence when California clearly states that they cannot, at least against males.
