As the title reads my mom is going to end up raising a lvm. I love my little brother, but he's too spoiled. He gets everything he wants just by crying. Everytime I try to enforce at least a small amount of discipline (like washing his own dishes) my mom undoes the work by doing it for him and saying she'll teach him later (she never does).
So he's lazy. I remember telling him to wash his dish and he started rolling his eyes and throwing his body around while whining. At some point I told him to cook his own food and he asked me "why can't you do it?". Today I told him not to touch the bananas because he already ate one , and he ate it anyway. My mom is on her way home and she told me I can't put him on punishment and that she'll talk to him (which I know is just a slap on the wrist).
All week he doesn't listen. Before bed I'll tell him not to touch his phone cause he has school. I keep catching him using it after he thinks I went to bed. And my mom doesn't do anything about it. She just excuses it even though he drags his feet in the morning. She says he doesn't act tired when she's around. But either way HES NOT GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP.
He keeps being loud on the headset on his games and my mom does nothing but tells me to ignore it. I'm getting tired of it. This is why I barely help with him anymore. I'm not going to be a maid for a brat. This is just small stuff now but wait until he turns into a teenager and then an adult. He'll be useless and not know how to face challenges because my mom coddles him.
Everytime I try to tell my mom this she just says "well I wasn't hard on you growing up either". Yeah, she wasn't. And you know what happened with me? I was a lazy fuck that would cry when she had to do chores. I had to teach myself how to cook and clean. And the fact I wasn't taught how to do anything out of fear of me not doing it right (like what's happening to my brother) myself esteem plummeted because I felt like I was useless and couldn't do anything right (which is weird, they wanted me to do chores yet wouldn't teach me? Anyway..).
Even though she didn't discipline me, I was still humbled by living through poverty. Despite being spoiled myself I still faced challenges because I was poor. It taught me to be grateful for what I had. My mom is in a better spot financially since his birth and his dad helps pay for useless shit. So my brother has a phone at 9 (I got my first phone at 14). He has his own playstation, a big tv, his own laptop. He gets fucking everything and doesn't have to do basic shit.
My older brothers grew up having to go yard work, they had candy stands to make their own money, they shoveled drive ways, mowers lawns. I'm not saying my little brother has to do all that but he has to something or he's going to end up a worse version than me. My mom won't even let me have him to basic chores.
So she going to raise an ungrateful brat and I want no part of that. However i still have to live with my little brother. My mom doesn't expect me to do everything but she does need my help with somethings. Like waking him up in the morning, making breakfast, dropping him off to and from school (not now tho we're home schooled) etc. I can't be around him without feeling resentful. What do I do? I tell my mom how I feel and all she does is excuse his behavior.
