When it comes to how women commit these attacks, the report found that most (22.2%) used threats of spreading lies, blackmail, or verbal coercion. Not mentioned in this report, but in a follow-up analysis of the findings, is that some women threatened to lie about the men abusing or raping them to get the men to comply. I will address that further when I get into the analysis, however, I want people to consider that particular issue because it is something unique to female perpetrators. They can always claim that their male victims abused them, regardless of the victim’s age, and have a reasonable chance of being believed.

Every now and then there are posts and comments on mensrights where a guy talks about being raped, and I've seen this method come up several times.

In the show Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dee "jokes" about using this method to get people to have sex with her.

The believability, and indeed our care and sympathy for male and female rape victims, obviously influences this. Men who are raped are afraid to talk about it because they assume people won't believe them.

Women, in turn, use it as a weapon to garner the sympathy and support of other people. And can even use this power to force men into compliance.

I assume if a woman can literally rape a man by threatening to accuse him of rape, they can probably use that to coerce men in lots of other ways also. I imagine #MeToo is largely just an extension of this.

If you want to talk about who really wields power in society, I think this is pretty telling. People care about women. And while I'm not saying that women are bad people or that "all women" abuse this power, I definitely don't think we should be ignoring this. The entire campaign where people are trying to downplay how often women falsely accuse men of rape is centered around keeping and hiding this power.

If men want gender equality, maybe we should focus on helping people be empathetic to men. But of course then you run into "menpathy" which is already a pejorative slur being used by feminists to attack the notion that men deserve sympathy and compassion from people.

The second method was the use of force (14.4%).

This study doesn't get into this, but both of those numbers are very similar to male-on-female rape as well. And if you break it down further to how many preparators use weapons, the numbers are similar there as well.

I think it's also interesting how they talk about men's experience of the event. Even though they seem to shrug it off on the outside, it obviously bothers them on the inside. Men are 9 times less likely to report it to the police and are also less likely to share it with friends and other people (which goes back to believability). And many won't even call it "rape" even though they still use obvious synonyms for rape such as forced sex and non-consensual sex.
