In short I feel like most men who watch porn don't really care about the ethics of what they watch, they will shamelessly watch all sorts of morally questionable material and always default to "Well the law allows it".

Men watch porn. Women ride the carousel.

Does your argument mean that men should stop watching porn but women should keep dating/sleeping around?

If so, what are 80% of guys supposed to do instead?

Assume there is some age that most women are recognizably capable of consent and agency. Then there will always be two years younger than that. If that age is 18, then it's 18. It's not arbitrary.

As with anything, it's an overgeneralization.

It's true that I really don't worry about the ethics of what I watch. I just don't buy into the camp that passively watching something is an immoral act. If I didn't commission it and I didn't pay for it, I'm essentially a bystander. It's like slowing down to look at a car crash; it doesn't make you responsible for the crash.

But that's me. I know plenty of men who won't watch anything that makes them feel any sense of yick. "Stepsister gets stuck in the dryer? That's incest and sexual assault!"

To which I say: yeah, it's fantasy, cooking meth is immoral too but it didn't stop me from watching Breaking Bad. But for them it isn't a rational thing, really, just a yick response.

The women who do porn and go to these porn studios, are doing it out of their own free will, they literally sign a contract and are being briefed and paid, on what will go done on the casting couch or girls do porn. So why should they care about the decisions of other people? They shouldn't it's stupid. PPD women love to make the argument that “men on here think porn is real and men have a porn fantasy” but will turn around and say porn harms women and the women don't “really” enjoy what their doing in the scenes like you didn't just say porn is not real???? Cognitive dissonance.

I mean, I think the problem here isn't porn, it's just altogether, the problem exists in porn but just stems from their general attitude towards girls being exploited for sex or being persuaded into sex by adults. Yes you see men expressing disgust or offense over like, very little kids, but men's empathy towards girls goes out the window around age 12, not 16 or 18.

If the AoC was changed to 12 overnight, it would be disingenuous to pretend there wouldn't be a mass occurrence of hordes of men going for the new meat now available to them.
