Fixed that so it's obvious to everyone. And okay OP, I can tell you what you want to hear:
Pretend like nothing happened and stay the course. Maybe it will blow over, maybe not.

He was being sarcastic. Instead of working to be more detached, why don't you actually work on improving yourself. Figure out why you are flipping out. Figure out why you are so insecure. Figure out why you reject the harsh truth over the convenience of a false reality. You are the problem in this relationship and you are not being a man. Which means eventually she will leave you and no amount of dread or detachment will stop it.
