I've been under the impression that hypergamy was all about marriage and resources (women trading up for the man with the most resources).

How does hypergamy apply to the hookup culture when it's more about casual sex than marriage and resources?

I ask because if hypergamy is the strategy women use to select a mate, then it would seem women would align more with beta bux in a hookup culture than alpha fucks.
