I want to help Asian Americans in their movement for equality in the U.S. but I'm constantly disregarded and accused of being disingenuous because I'm white.

Asian Americans and Asians in general have always been looked down on in the U.S. and Asian men in particular are viewed as weak, compliant, and less than human. I want to help them (although what can one person do?) but many Asians feel that all white men are the "white liberals" that only pretend to care when it's beneficial to some greedy cause.

This bias needlessly hurts their cause. Their anger is justified but how can I, or any white man, help when we are placed in the same category as those we also distrust?

I truly feel angered when I read and see the awful circumstances Asian men and women live through in western nations and my desire to help is genuine, but I don't know how to convince them that there are white people that really do wish to help.
