I am a twenty-something male and have had successful relationships in the past but...
At a very young age I was repeatedly molested by my older brother and while I am pretty much over it there is still one thing that remains. I am very uncomfortable with physical touch in general, ever since the day it happened I noticed this even as a young boy.
Initiating physical contact first always feels very forced and unnatural no matter how simple I keep it. I also have a knee jerk mini-flinch if some touches me unexpectedly. Drinking alcohol makes this go away and I have had success while buzzed using the escalation ramp. From reading RP sexual strategy I know that physical touch is essential for getting to be a sexual prospect and not just a friend in a girl's eyes. I feel it's my biggest flaw and want to work on it without using something temporary like alcohol all the time. It just seems I have a constant aura that communicates "Don't touch me" no matter how much I pay attention to my body language or make sure I am relaxed.
So my question would be, given the circumstances, what can I do to practice being more comfortable with physical touch? Is it like approach anxiety and it will just get easier the more I do it? Because to me it never seems to get better. Also what is something I could practice on platonic friends or casual interests to get me more into the rhythm of initiating physical contact and make it more second nature?
Anyone with similar experiences I would love to hear your stories of how you over came past trauma as well. RP has already changed my life a lot and I look forward to how much it will continue to help me improve as a man.
Cheers.
