So. Been thinking about this a little, feminism are heavily critical of gender roles, and this post isn't about whether gender roles are right or not, rather that the way they're shown, and explained. I'll explain what I mean.

So first off, let's take an example, there was an Amitheasshole post a while ago, sadly I couldn't find it. There were four people involved, a couple, their daughter and the daughters uncle. So, the couple in question were going against the traditional gender roles, the woman was taking care of the pipelines and stuff like that and the guy was taking care of food and keeping the house clean. The uncle was heavily critical of this, and, one day the man asked for a cider, and the woman for a beer, he said something along the lines of "just when I thought this couldn't get any more backwards". The daughter snapped and called him a misogynistic asshole etc. Etc.

OP asked if they were the assholes for not stopping their daughter, as you can imagine the comments were full of he's a mysoginist etc.

Now the thing is, wasn't he also discriminating against another man? Why is that not misandry? Why does feminism show a picture that traditional gender roles affect both men and women? Why is it just women? Why are men being left behind?

This is a bit of a follow up, but I remember not too long ago a study that asked the question (or something along the lines of that least), "Do girls face sexism in schools", and in the "study", they said that schools gave out classical fairytales to children and those fairytales contained mysoginistic content, basing that off of the fact that schools are teaching young girls that they should wait for a prince to come and save them. And again, what about the young boys? Traditional gender roles affect men just as much as they do women, only difference is if men talk about it they're immediately shut down. (Oh and if you're wondering, girls do not face sexism in schools, multiple reports by people in the educational field suggest that they're is a grading bias which helps girls, and is the reason for the big difference in amount of boys and girls in universities, I found the same info on 3 different websites, I'll edit this post and add links if you want to read it for yourself)

Let's see. Top country for equality in the world is Rwanda, with 60% women in the parliament. One second, but isn't equality about getting as close to 50/50 as possible?

So, I was writing an article for school, and the article itself wasn't focusing on if men faced more or less sexism than women, rather that the sexism men face is rarely talked about. Telling feminists that "you can't call yourself a fighter for equality when you've left 1 gender behind". Later another teacher asked me what I'm writing about, and I just said feminism, she asked if I was against or with, I said I was neither, I was focusing on the part where they ignore men's sexism.

The teacher said this, men make up 99% of historical figures and have had political dominance for centuries etc., basically telling me that we can ignore the issues because men have been privileged in the past. You cant use history to make changes, you can use history to say this was wrong we can't let this happen again, but you can't make reforms based on history.

The teacher said that why don't men take up those issues and feminism take up theirs. There are male feminists, a political ideology can't block support. And when you say we want equality, you'll have to take both genders into account, otherwise it's fighter for women's rights issues, not fighter for equality.

What I'm saying here is, Feminism ignores men's issues while Still calling themselves equality fighter's. Feminism says that traditional gender roles don't affect men while they in fact DO affect.
