I think this is a bit too nihilistic.

Specifically, it reeks of the sensationalism common to recent converts.

The first few months after being dragged from the Matrix suck, no one disputes that. You feel betrayed and angry. Nihilism seems like the only defense to protect your ego from the revelation that it's been lied to for years.

But the truth is, there are other people that you love. People that you had real relationships with, and formed real memories with. And many of them are still plugged in.

Being awoken is not a curse. It is a gift. It means you can go back in and help the people who mean something to you.

It's still selfishness. But it's a different kind of selfishness. It's a selfishness that uplifts your chosen few.

Not everyone needs to be a stepping stone to your rise to new power. Cold enough world as it is without getting gone against by your own.

Be selfish. If you're not looking out for yourself, then no one is.

All life is about transferring value. And human life in particular is, as a rule, about exchanging value (though plenty of predation and parasitism exists).

So, I'm not sure how useful it is to say that no one cares because they just want something from you. That's what caring is. With the possible exception of mother-love (and there is still an exchange of value there, too. It is just below the surface), can you imagine anyone caring about anything that they didn't think would provide them with value in some form?

Look, man. Happy, successful people don't see themselves as being fundamentally alone. They walk the world like everyone is their best friend. Wherever they go, both men and women alike are drawn to be with them, because they don't see people as opportunities for advancement. That's being "that guy". The guy who only interacts with people if it directly benefits him. Seriously, fuck that guy. Maybe if you spent some time thinking about your friends, treating them like people with their own desires and goals, you wouldn't feel the need to reduce the world in front of you to a pile of formulas. Real talk I teared up during spiderman 3 because when the sand man pulls himself together its such a coincidentally well done visual metaphor of this reality

obviously I wasn't supposed to read the scene like that but I was simply aware of this truth from a young age (16-17?) and out of that I found myself greatly moved by a scene from spiderman 3 when it came out in theaters and I'm going to have to live with that and move past it and get support from others like me

After the whole anger at women/society stage, this is where I am now. It feels like it's the biggest hurdle yet.

I always had fantasies that I would be married/LTR in the future, where I would be able to 'fall back' on my woman, in case I ever needed it. Until then, my parents would fill that role.

I now know that I am truly alone. However, it hasn't fully 'clicked' with me, so I am not able to use it as a motivator yet.

By virtue of the fact that were all here sharing stories, helping each other out and improving as men goes against what you wrote. I like to believe that were not just here for the flashy reddit points.

Sure, TRP is ugly and you won't like what we tell you, but it's the truth and were doing it because you need it. I care about the people here and lend a hand without anything in return except for "karma". Others have done the same for me.

Also, regardless of the randomness of which family you got into, they're still your base and will always take care of you.

The only real truth is that you will die alone, but lets not make it harder to get there by trying to hold the whole world on your shoulders.

My family barely cares, they just don't give a fuck. I grew up alone despite having siblings and parents that didn't divorce. Its old hat, and the way women come and go in my life, I know for a fact I am alone and always will be.

That's why I have dogs and cars, I can trust them and they don't leave unless in want them to. When a dog dies, I get another. When a woman leaves, its OK I already have others.

I do care about my fellow red pill men and friends. I think a different way of formulating it would be, you can only care for others the way you care about yourself, that's where empathy and sympathy comes from.
