There's more going on here than her being a woman. She also appears to be a native. In Canada, they're absolutely brutal. They commit terribly violent and usually pointless stupid crimes.

In areas where there are higher native populations the crime rates are much higher.

Yet, the government sees a problem with overrepresentation of indigenous people in jails, despite the fact that they're probably all guilty of the crimes that they're incarcerated for.

There are even special laws meant just for them that allow them to get lighter jail sentences than a person of any other ethnicity would.

Like women, people generally feel sorry for them and allow them to get away with all kinds of nonsense.
