The charity says 33 per cent of players get divorced within a year of retiring, 40 per cent are declared bankrupt within five years of playing their last game, and 80 per cent will suffer from osteoarthritis.

You basically get what you pay for / attract. If you attract peolpe by your status. When you lose your status you lose the person that was attracted to you when it comes to women who chase things in this regard.

The bigger problem is the system rewards them for doing so because as there isn't shared responsibility. eg The divorce take half the money/assets (none of which they earned) taking the guys future so almost all of the pro's end up in finicial problems.

Oh, they have issues. They just have a PR team to sweep those issues under the rug.

As for women - it seems like they can either make it on their own and be praised for being independent, or marry a successful man and be praised for finding such a great provider; and since this great provider is out of the house a whole lot the woman sustains her independent status. Maybe the woman "runs" the household without actually being a housewife and is this still independent and stunning for basically running her husband's business (his house).

For men - they can either make it on their own and be a part of the problem (patriarchy) because everyone knows men are only successful because of their genitals, or they can marry a successful woman and still be a part of the problem by trying to ride the coattails of successful women. Either way it seems that the Evil men are trying to stymie the independence of women.

It's a huge double standard, but if anyone tries to call out women for objectifying men they respond with all of the ways they think men (when it's really women) objectify women. In reality, it's the hypocrisy that's being called out, that men aren't allowed to objectify women but women are allowed to objectify men. Both sexes have objectified each other from the beginning of time, but because women were supposedly such an oppressed minority it's now their time at the top and they can do all the things they claim they hate men for doing.

It's like a child saying when they grow up they're going to do whatever they want, and then actually doing it.
