I mean this literally, not figuratively.

Growing up as a Millennial, I've noticed that there seemed to be a widening disconnect between the power that women have over men to create desire verses the power that men have over women to create desire. This was especially true in my generation and beyond.

My generation / age group was the first one to communicate primarily via textual communication. I'm wondering if there is a correlation between that and that generation's struggle to cultivate mutual attraction. For example, young men in my generation (especially shy ones who are likely to turn incel later) normally see a girl that strikes them, and then go home and try to start a texting conversation with her. This rarely goes well for a lot of guys, causing some amount of discouragement and a feeling of powerlessness.

I think that a lot of men who primarily try to cultivate attraction in women via text messaging leave one of their greatest assets on the table: their audible voice.

Obviously not everyone has a drop-dead attractive voice, but I would say that the distribution of women positively responding to the average man's voice more closely mirrors how men see the average woman's physique. Plus, guys can practice for this. And if all else fails, you can try whispering.

I'm curious what other people think, both men and women. Anyone have experience to back this up or contradict it? Is a guy figuring out good voice tones and inflections roughly equivalent to a woman putting on a flattering outfit in terms of attraction? Could guys do a lot to land the girl that they like by making an effort to speak audibly to her more often rather than solely through text?
