Crosspost "CMV: It is much more acceptable for women to sexualize men than for men to sexualize women" from /r/changemyview:
First off I wanna state that I’m not saying women sexualize men more. I think both genders do it equally. However it is much more socially acceptable for a woman to sexualize a man. For example, when I was on TikTok I saw a video of man talking about how attractive a female character was in a movie. And tons of women and SJWs were saying that he was sexualizing women and how he is enforcing the “male gaze”. And later I saw multiple videos or “edits” of women sexualizing multiple male fictional characters and nobody said anything. All the women were actually making more sexual comments. Now I know TikTok doesn’t represent everyone but it’s just an example. And mostly everywhere online you will see men getting shamed for something women do as well. I’m not saying women can’t sexualizing men, but I do have a problem when some of them criticize men for doing it but not other women.
Edit: By sexualize, I do not mean harass. Nobody should be harassed period.
