Study finds that "manuscripts written by women as solo authors or coauthored by women were treated even more favorably by referees and editors" yet gets reported with the heading "no gender bias". Gender bias against men doesn't seem to count as gender bias!

Judge dismisses case against man for sending birthday card to daughter. Dismissing the charge brought under the Domestic Violence Act against the man, the judge stated:“I mean, if we have reached a stage in our society where a man is deemed to have breached a safety order by sending a birthday card"

Following a petition, Winchester University cancelled a talk with two men's rights activists in 2019. Here is the text of one of the talks (by William Collins) that were planned. It covers education, suffrage and coverture. It's disappointing that such views can't be expressed in such a forum.

95% of strip searches of children reported in England & Wales are of boys. This may or may not be an issue but I found it interesting that it was considered unfair that black children were more likely to be strip-searched but this huge gender disparity was barely mentioned in lots of media coverage.

I wish more men knew their rights when they are being illegally thrown out of their homes. Most places have decent laws to protect you from being suddenly kicked out.

My ex kicked me out of the place I paid for like over 30 times. She used to blackmail me by saying she would tell the cops I did something to hurt her. One time she even did it, I woke up to guns in my face and went to jail for weeks because I refused to leave (OUR place). I was so scared of her, and the cops, I remember several times tearing through the desert behind our apartment trying to get away, running directly through cacti and shit while sirens got closer. I eventually was able to record her saying she would lie to the cops when they get there to get me locked up, if I wouldn't leave. Still, I can't say I felt any safer with the recording. If she's manipulative and conniving enough, she'll find a way to get you kicked out or locked up. She'll get the cops to listen to her. It's a woman's superpower. Women are fucking scary. If you're gonna fall in love, pray she isn't a narcissist.

What’s annoying about this is many women and feminists won’t acknowledge how women can easily take advantage of the system like this. It’s like they think if they acknowledge it, it somehow delegitimises real female victims.

I’m sorry you went through that. Makes me understand why some people have secret cameras in their houses.

This brutal snake deserves to be headshot. I'm really sorry you went through this brutal nightmare. Please if you can, try counseling. I am scared if you develop issues like PTSD. Very wise decision with the recording. Always carry a recording device or put the app on your home screen for easy access. That bitch will burn in hell. No evil remains unpunished. Karma has a lot of work.

Are you safe now? Do you feel fine at work, school, home?

[–]variousfruits7 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I dont want her to burn in hell but she was definitely very immature in the way she handled things between us, and narcissistic and hypocritical. I wasn't an angel either, the things she did was in reaction to some things I did that I regret, but the point is I was never abusive, as she claims and also happens to be, and I never weaponized the police against her or acted nearly as heartless as she did.

I went through a period of homelessness after leaving her and now i'm with a roommate and yes I unfortunately do have PTSD from not only those experiences but I was already dealing with PTSD when I met her, ironically I had already just gone through a great deal of trauma, from losing my daughter to witnessing an execution to living on the streets and in rehabs and lockup. Feeling safe is something I struggle with all of the time.

Oh my heavens, my deep condolences about your daughter! I think you are the innocent one in that relationship. Mistakes of yours have been small. It's normal. Humans are mistakable. In what barbaric country do you live to witness execution and meet such evil people?

I live in the US, in Tucson AZ. It actually went down on the busiest road in the busiest part of downtown, at around 2am while tons of people were around. I dont know why or what it was over, but I got a front row seat. High caliber rifle to the head. I will never forget it. I even tried to help him but he was beyond gone.

[–]Drazer_Pride 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Heavens, this is brutally inhumane.

Study after study shows women initiate more domestic violence than men, yet this irrational myth persists that it’s men who commit DV and women who are victimized.

There is absolutely no legitimate reason to exclude male victims of domestic violence from the same help women receive. Why not equally help all victims?

Emergency rooms don’t deny people on the basis of sex, neither should domestic violence shelters or other DV victim resources.

In ireland, a country where rape isn't even illegal when women do it, doubt very much that DV services are better

Never cohabitate in a house you own. Rent your house out and let her lease an apartment in her name. When your turn is over walk out without obligation.

“I haven’t been able to have a relationship since, and I don’t think I
ever will. My confidence was chipped away at for so long. Eventually,
you do begin to say to yourself, ‘Maybe I am as useless and worthless as
she says’. But I know now that it was emotional and psychological
abuse. If even one other man recognises himself in this story and gets
help, I’ll be happy.”

Gives jack a medal already, but i hope it will help any dudes who are struggling with their partners.
