the problem is if you do anything in other people mind your just confirming it, but also if you do nothing your also seen as confirming it, also also doesn't matter if it get to court your screwed any way, no matter the out come, because you are now google-able, making getting house loan, rental, car loan, or job next to impossible.

by default people think you just got away with it.

coercion for money (what used to be called blackmail) is the only offence I never saw ANY judge go light on sentence, male or female, banged up

Only if the false accusation is being used to coerce the victim into handing over money or other property.

Otherwise would most likely be obstruction of justice or perverting the course of justice depending on what jurisdiction this was happening in.
