To your first question: no. You're thirty. Don't dress like a teenager. Dress your age.

To your second: fit, fit, fit. A $150 suit that you've tailored to fit you perfectly will always look better than a $10,000 suit that you put on right off the rack.

For daily wear: think business casual. You're past your twenties, own that shit.

Make sure the color AND tone match between belt and shoes. Guys don't give a damn about shoes. Girls obsess. Invest in several nice pairs (grownup shoes, not vans or sneakers).

Pants: Chinos with classier outfits, dark fitted (not slim fit, just not as baggy as most people seem to wear) denim with the rest. Make damn sure the jeans fit well (different brands fit people differently, just go try on several and see what works for you). Take your chinos/khakis to the tailor. It makes a huge difference that chicks notice.

Shirts: Oxfords, possibly with a V-neck sweater over it if it's cold to add layering. Again, take your buttonups to the tailor, tuck it in, and keep it tight. Nobody looks good with a shirt parachuting out of their waistband. Oxfords also work well with denim when untucked, but if you're going with a T-shirt or something less dressy above your jeans, make damn sure it fits your physique. Doesn't matter how much time you spent sculpting your body in the gym if you're draping it in a tent like a fat girl. If you can go down a shirt size without it popping up above your waistband then do it. If you don't believe me, try it one weekend with one shirt and notice the difference in how girls look at you.

Edit: Forgot to mention your brands question. Doesn't matter. All that matters is fit. Seriously. It's that simple. Brands matter to the extent that different brands fit differently, and Walmart type clothes rarely fit at all, but that's as far as it goes for guys.

Describe your lifestyle, job, etc...

I always wear flat front dress pants, cowboy boots and long sleeve button down shirts. Been doing this since my 30s. Roll my sleeves 2x in warm weather or when I am "casual".

Of course well fit jeans for total casual days.
