He may or may not be alpha. In our society, you don't have to be a full alpha to fuck your share of women. I was a theater geek in high school, and I ran threw 4-5 girls from that social circle. With a little bit of clever positioning and situational confidence (you are confident because of your situation / surroundings, not self-derived confidence). Classic example is a Denny's manager who's fucking 2-3 of the waitresses. He isn't alpha at all, but being put in a position of power gives him a little bit of leverage, which he uses to grab the easy nearby fruit. He just has his life set up in a way where he interacts with many women in inherently favorable circumstances. He does quite well for himself, but he might also be lazy, dependent on his current life situation, bad at the relationships WITH those women, etc.

TRP needs to learn to distinguish "Alpha" from "has sex with lots of women." In ancient times, perhaps only the alphas could fuck. Nowadays, anyone, beta or alpha, who can acquire some smidgeon of fame or status, can leverage that into sex. Plenty of rich, beta bucks type guys will rack up a great sex count with very attractive, high status women. Yet all they were getting is gold diggers and women throwing them a fuck after 3 expensive dinners.

You're friend is good with women and very confident, so it doesn't sound like he is one of these types of guys I'm describing. Just saying you can't expect to identify one "alpha trait" like charisma and then assume that they other key traits (like dominance, leadership, assertiveness) must also be there. A person will often naturally have evolved to be just alpha enough to get their dick wet the amount they need, leaving them as a mix of alpha and beta traits.

Perspective bias.

He is part of your main social group and you are assuming that he values all of your friendships in the same way you value theirs.

If he doesn't contribute much to determining your social settings and interactions, those things are just not that important to him. It seems like he cares more about being with his women and doing his own thing.
